FAQs
How can I experience Pine?
Contact Margit to arrange a practice near you. The Pine Practice is portable. We will also be offering videos, linked from this website.
What modalities or techniques does The Pine Practice draw from? Is it similar to any other workouts?
Pine is a hybrid practice combining limbs of yoga, somatic movement, organic dance, and relaxation techniques for women in midlife.
Do I need yoga experience to start this practice?
Yin yoga is accessible to everyone. Poses are supported using props, and Yin is by definition kind and permissive to the body. No, you do not need prior experience.
Bring you.
How long are the sessions?
The core practice is 90 minutes, but can be built up to longer, which gets better and better. A "sample" practice can be shorter, but Pine is at its essence about slowing down. Please allow ample time.
What if I can't hold poses for long periods?
We will set you up to be comfortable, with plenty of supportive props.
I'm in perimenopause—is this practice right for me too?
Absolutely. You're in the perfect place to start.
What if I'm on hormone replacement therapy (HRT)?
Good for you! Even with the physical symptoms regulated by HRT, many of the emotional aspects of midlife remain. We address those as well. Who are you now? What are you becoming? How does life look going forward?
What props or equipment do I need?
We will provide the equipment, but you're welcome to bring your own mat, bolster, blanket, eye mask, and socks, if you prefer. Wear comfortable clothing you can easily move in.
What results can I realistically expect?
A feeling of openness, ease, clarity, wholeness, relaxation, support, and clearer purpose. And that's the short list.
